Hello and welcome to my site. My name is Erik Hauser. I have recently graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Business and Organizational Communication with a minor in Direct Interactive Marketing. I also have a degree from Brown Mackie College – Akron in August 2005 where I received an Associates degree in Web Design and Computer Programming. I am fluent in many aspects of computer repair and computer programming. My programming languages include C, C#/C++, Visual Basic and Java.
In terms of web programming, I am well versed in HTML, JavaScript, XML, PHP/Perl Scripting and SQL database connectivity. I have also used many different types of Content Management Systems (CMS). If you view the Portfolio page or ask me about some projects I’ve done, I will be happy to show you what I am capable of. For example, I have helped some Marketing majors at the University of Akron create and maintain the Taylor Institute of Direct Marketing web site. Please enjoy my site and see what I have to offer. I believe that the knowledge gained will further my understanding into building websites for a diverse client base. I will better understand how to market and advertise my clients and in-turn their business will profit.
During the summer of 2007 I wrote an article in the internationally published, Direct Marketing: An International Journal. The article is in Volume 1, Issue 4 and is titled, “Technology and Direct Marketing – An Insider’s Viewpoint.” The article describes three essential pieces of technology that I believe every Direct Marketing firm should have and know how to use effectively. In my personal time, I enjoy listening to music, watching movies and tinkering with things on the computer. I am also a casual gamer either spending time playing my Nintendo Wii or playing World of Warcraft with my friends.
